The national Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. State Department, has selected 11 University of Utah students as semi-finalists this year, a record number for the U. Last year’s total of 10 semi-finalists was also a record number. This year’s list has eight undergraduate students and three graduate students.

Four University of Utah students have received highly competitive Fulbright U.S. Student Program grants from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board for the 2022-2023 academic year.

This year’s list has eight undergraduate students and two graduate students, including three English Teaching Assistant semi-finalists, five Study semi-finalists (seeking an M.A. degree) and two Research Grant semi-finalists. Countries include Germany, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Spain, the Czech Republic and France.
